Yep, More Events!

This weekend I was clearing through my sample files… sample thank you notes, sample publications, and sample event promos. Event promos that include save the date mailers, invitations, and programs over the years from our 19 schools.

Boy, has the quality of our schools’ promos improved since I started keeping track! Yes, there are some “don’t do this” examples (with names removed to protect the guilty), but for most schools, the quality has greatly improved.

As we move into the 2nd half of the “Auction Season” this Spring, the results are showing fantastic improvement. After a year, sometimes two, of virtual events or no events, this year many of our schools are showing their best results ever.

I have been sharing some results and some upcoming events in past posts like here and here. Today’s post may be the last in the series, but please remember that our schools are working hard to connect with congregational members, alumni, and other donors that want to support quality, Christian education. Please consider how you can be part of their success this year and in the future.

First, some recent event highlights:

St. Peter-Immanuel Lutheran, Decatur:

Mogan David and his crew marked another record on March 5, raising over $100,000 from their gala. If you want to see how to do things right, plan to get a ticket to their event next year (but you may have to know someone… it fills quickly!)

St. John Lutheran School, Kendallville

After a few years hiatus, the school formed a committee and raised $45,000 last month, with over $10,000 earmarked for their endowment match challenge (that will be tripled by The Lutheran Foundation). They couldn’t be happier as their work in Noble County continues to grow.

Maybe you missed the above events this time around, but below are some upcoming events that you can still support:

Wyneken Memorial Lutheran School, Decatur

First up this weekend is the school PTL’s Trivia Night on March 12. Come, guess the difference between aquaphobia and hydrophobia, and raise money for new playground equipment.

-----

Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran, Fort Wayne

March 19 from 6-9 p.m. is the next date for the annual bash located at the Allen County Fairgrounds. As is their custom, there will be no admission cost but the evening will feature live music, live and silent auctions, a nacho bar, and drinks available for purchase. Complimentary desserts and popcorn will be available. Contact the school office at 260-483-9371 for more information.

-----

Central Lutheran School, New Haven

Their annual gala (and we do mean, “Gala”) will be Saturday, April 23. Tickets go on sale March 27th - April 9th and can be purchased at www.cluth.org. This year they are planning a tribute video for John Weber instead of having a speaker (we can’t think of a better tribute!)

-----

St. Peter Lutheran School, Fort Wayne

They had so much fun in the Fall, C. Brune & Co. are doing it again in the Spring! Come to St. Peter’s on May 14 for a fun time (we always want to see what wacky socks principal Brune will be wearing). Contact Chris at cbrune@stpetersfw.org for more information.

-----

Holy Cross Lutheran School, Fort Wayne

Holy Cross will be hosting their annual Big Give on Saturday, May 21. It will be mostly outdoors at The Garden, the former bank-turned- community-space adjacent to the school and church property on North Anthony. Contact Kevin at kschroeder@holycrossfw.org for more information.
