STANDING for Our Schools on August 28 was a Success

Timeless. Foundational. Bold.

These were the words used by Rev. Bart Day, CEO of Lutheran Church Extension Fund- LCEF), as he encouraged attendees at this year’s The Lutheran Schools Partnership VIP Event. He reminded everyone that as a Very Important Partner in support of Lutheran schools, we all need to STAND firm in the certainty of the Gospel, share with conviction the timeless gift of Jesus’ redemptive work, and unapologetically share this good news in our schools.

Although COVID19 affected a late change in location and the number of attendees, it did not suppress the love of the Lutheran community, its love for Christ, and its love for Lutheran schools! Gathered at Sweetwater Sound, guests, sponsors, and donors netted, after costs, over $80,000 for Lutheran education in Northeast Indiana! We are humbled at the support by sponsors, generosity from donations, and the popular match provided by our event sponsor, LCEF.

The evening ended with a celebration of Mrs. Angie Owen, honored as our Educator of the Year Award recipient. As the video shared, Mrs. Owen has been doing what “she’s supposed to do”, teaching in a Lutheran classroom.

We cannot express enough thanks for everyone’s support of Lutheran education in Northeast Indiana. As Rev. Day stressed, we are to continue to support Lutheran education “with boldness and certainty...standing up, not sitting down.” Thank you for your continued help in STANDING strong in supporting our area Lutheran schools administrators, teachers and staff. Your generosity will ensure that we can continue to Lead, Champion, and Collaborate with 19 schools, for 350 educators, to ensure that preK-grade 12 students have what they need to thrive in the world and in Christ.
