On Thursday, November 7, 2013, The Lutheran Schools Partnership and The Lutheran Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) of Indiana will host their first SGO Thanksgiving event, "Sharing God's Opportunities." The event will be held at the International Ballroom at IPFW and will feature entertainment, a cocktail hour, dinner, and a presentation by a national leader. The event is open to donors to The Lutheran SGO of Indiana between November 1, 2012, and June 30, 2013.
"This event is both a thank-you celebration and a kickoff for the year-end SGO giving season," says Randy Kammeyer, president of the Lutheran SGO board. "We wanted to host a complimentary dinner for donors who supported Lutheran education in northeast Indiana the previous fiscal year as a thank you for their support, and to encourage each donor to invite another couple that may be interested in supporting scholarships in the future as an introduction to the Lutheran SGO of Indiana."Each invitee will be encouraged to invite another prospective donor to sit with him or her at the event. School principals will be at the event as well, serving as table captains. The featured speaker will be Tim Goeglein from Focus on the Family. Not only is Tim a “local boy” and practicing Lutheran, but Focus on the Family has several programs that would speak to Christian education and the opportunities that School Choice can bring, including parenting, marriage, life challenges, and faith.
In addition to the complimentary dinner and program starting at 6:30 p.m., there will be an optional pre-reception starting at 5:30 p.m. For $50 per person or $75 per couple, those attending the pre-reception will enjoy complimentary refreshments, have a photo opportunity with Tim, and receive a signed copy of his recent book. The event committee, spearheaded by Cheryl Brockmann of A Party Apart, is also looking for sponsors wanting to help defray the cost of the event.Look for your invitation soon in the mail.
